In my 94-feet feature for CoachCal.com, I take a look at the UK vs. MSU series history, as well as the series superlatives and Kentucky's SEC-only stats. In addition, I recount UK's 2004 win in Starkville, a game decided by a last second basket by UK's Erik Daniels. Here's an excerpt:
With Kentucky being undersized in the middle, MSU began the game with single coverage of UK's post players, Hayes and Daniels. The tactic allowed UK to spurt to a 10-2 lead by the first media timeout. When the Bulldogs started giving help on post catches, UK's shooting took off.
Behind two treys from Fitch and forward Bernard Cote's NBA range 3-pointer, followed by 7-footer Lukasv Obrzut's 3-pointer, his first basket in nearly a month, the Cats were off and running to an 18-point, 35-17 lead.

The University of Kentucky has launched a website which promotes seven Wildcat basketball players for postseason honors. The UK release reads like this:
As the 2011-12 men's basketball regular season quickly comes to a close, postseason awards balloting has begun. With several players being considered for postseason acclaim, the University of Kentucky has launched a website dedicated to consideration for postseason awards among several Wildcat players.
UK has developed pages for seven athletes, with each page dedicated to his specific accomplishments throughout the season. The pages feature tidbits, video highlights, stats and more on each player.

The site is slick, clean, and extremely user friendly.
With this website, Kentucky has taken player promotion to the next level, and is just another example of the UK basketball program being a players first program.
... after this embarrassing display, that it's time for him to hang up his whistle and scour the earth for something he's actually competent at doing, if such a vocation exists.
Hess has been just one of the many scourges of college basketball masquerading as an official for several years, and Saturday, with him ejecting from the arena former NC State stars Tom Gugliotta and Chris Corchiani (who were sitting in the stands) during the Wolfpack's game against Florida State, Hess removes all doubt that he's unfit to officiate college basketball (or, any level of competitive basketball for that matter).
Hess has been so proficient, and has such great experience blowing calls, perhaps he can ... well, never mind.
In my 94-feet feature at CoachCal.com, I take a look at the UK/Ole Miss series, examine the excellence of Anthony Davis, and see how the Wildcats stack up in the SEC rankings. Here's an excerpt:
Adding to his legend, Davis is also proving to be a deadly accurate shooter, helped in in small part by his 79 dunks on the year (3.0 per game), a ridiculous number. Davis' resulting 65.1 field goal percentage is currently the second-best single-season shooting accuracy in UK history (minimum 150 attempts).
